The Foundation's mission: AUTONOMY AND A FULFILLING SOCIAL LIFE
The Quebec Foundation for the Blind assists people who live with a visual defi ciency and have many real and pressing needs. Its mandate is to aid the blind and partially sighted by providing counselling and helping them lead the most autonomous and active lifestyle possible, whether it’s in terms of housing, recreational activities or community life. Besides providing the visually impaired with the necessary tools to enable them to live as independently as possible, the Foundation also helps them organize their daily routines and lessens their isolation.
Our society doesn’t intend to "isolate" those with a visual defi ciency, but it does nonetheless. The Quebec Foundation for the Blind is determined to change this reality. We have developed numerous programs to diminish the isolation and loneliness that are an inevitable part of the lives of the blind and visually challenged. We offer a wide range of recreational activities. In fact, the Foundation does everything it can to enhance the autonomy and security of a person living with a visual impairment.
