PROTECT YOUR EYES

Against ultra-violet light - The dangers of prolonged eye exposure to sunlight does not apply only during summer months. A person's eyes can be exposed to UV light all year round. Exposure to UV rays causes the most damage to the eye and can lead to cataracts, inflammation of the cornea, macular degeneration, keratitis and other chronic eye disease. The best protection is to wear UV filtered sunglasses and a large brimmed hat.

Sports and recreational activities at the Foundation - The foundation offers a wide variety of activities to visually handicapped children, ages ranging from 6 to 18. We have a wonderful team of dynamic guides and counsellors who have been trained to meet the needs of these children, especially when it comes to safety. The children meet new challenges, discover new skills and most of all realize that they too can accomplish what their seeing friends do so naturally.

At the foundation, we value to importance of group activities mostly to break the barriers of solitude and isolation which often accompany this handicap. The counsellors work hard at creating an atmosphere which allows each child to at least try new things. Respect, fun and discovery, help build self-esteem.
